AI & OUR ART
The artwork we sell is human-made.
Feral Banner Co. does not use raw AI-generated artwork as finished product designs. We do not generate an image, change a couple of details, and call it our work.
When AI is involved in developing a product, it is used at the idea stage only—as a visual brainstorm, rough concept, reference, or starting point for exploring a direction.
The final artwork is created by a human. When an AI-generated concept is used as an idea base, the product artwork is recreated by a human rather than edited from the generated image into a finished design. That includes drawing, constructing, coloring, composing, revising, and preparing the artwork for production.
AI-generated artwork is never used as the final production file for an FBC product.
WHERE AI FITS
We use AI as a creative and business tool for brainstorming, concept exploration, visual references, writing assistance, research, organization, and other behind-the-scenes work.
We also use AI-generated imagery, video, animation, effects, and mockups in advertising and promotional content. Sometimes that use is obvious. Sometimes it is ridiculous on purpose.
The flying Seraphim in an ad might be AI. The Seraphim printed on your shirt is human-created artwork.
Humans make the art.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
We do not take an AI image, make minor edits, and sell it as original human artwork.
We do not knowingly prompt AI to imitate a living artist and sell the result as our own work.
We do not describe AI-generated artwork as hand-drawn or human-created.
WHY USE IT AT ALL?
Because it can help us explore an idea before deciding whether it is worth making. But the concept is not the finished work.
AI may help inspire the idea. Humans make the art.
